Supporting The Karen G. Schurig Scholarship Fund
Schurig Center continues to be the only nonprofit in Marin and Sonoma Counties providing innovative, high-quality rehabilitation and support services designed to help make the recovery process after a traumatic brain injury, concussion or stroke more holistic and hopeful for survivors and their families.
Funds raised at BAM Gala are vital to the achievement of Schurig Center’s mission. We do not receive health insurance fees or government funds. The continued success of our services relies on the generosity of foundations, community-minded businesses, and individual donors, like YOU.
70% of our clients live on a low income. All scholarship funds raised at BAM Gala make it possible for Schurig Center to offer services either on a sliding scale basis or free of charge.
Thanks to you, over 250 people this year who live on a low income will have access to life-changing services, regardless of their ability to pay!
About BAM Gala’s Name
Brain, Art & Music (BAM) Gala is named in honor of Schurig Center’s Therapeutic Program, which utilizes expressive art therapy, music, and cognitive skill building classes to help survivors rebuild their lives and abilities after brain injury. This innovative program is considered a model in the field of brain injury recovery.
