Aphasia Communication Class

An event every week that begins at 10:00am on Tuesday, repeating until March 12, 2019

Do you have trouble expressing yourself?
Do feel that you are misunderstood or not heard?
Would you like to speak with more confidence?
Do you sometimes feel overwhelmed during conversations?
This group can help! This 10-week program provides the opportunity for individuals who have experienced a stroke or other neurological impairment to practice and develop communication and cognitive skills in a supportive environment. Each participant will be evaluated to assess his or her unique needs and to set personal goals.
Topics covered include:
– Engaging in conversation
– Body language
– Communication strategies
– Listening skills
– Connections with friends, family, and your community
Facilitator
Kalynn Stewart, MS/CCC-SLP, a licensed speech therapist specializing in stroke and brain injuries. Kalynn has worked in rehabilitation of individuals with complex neurological impairments in the hospital, outpatient, and community setting for over 20 years.

Pre-screening by therapist is required.
