Schurig Center to Participate in the 2016 Kaiser Permanente Stroke Symposium

Download the press release here.

Representatives from Schurig Center for Brain Injury Recovery will be presenting at Kaiser Permanente’s Stroke Symposium on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Embassy Suites in San Rafael, CA.

The symposium is a full day of education designed for the health care providers working with stroke patients. Speakers will include several Kaiser Permanente physicians from across Northern California (Neurologists, Cardiologist, Emergency Department/EMS Director, and Physical Medicine and Rehab) and physicians from the Neurovascular Program at UCSF. The following representatives from Schurig Center for Brain Injury Recovery, the only community-based non-profit presenting at the symposium, will also provide information about stroke treatment and recovery.

Schurig Center Board member and Chief of Neuropsychology Brain Injury Program at Kaiser Foundation Rehabilitation Center, Dr. Richard L. Delmonico, PhD, and Neuropsychologist Dr. Jim Wilson, PhD, will be discussing the statistics and current medical advances in the field of stroke treatment. They will also provide information about Schurig Center, including the organization’s history, services, and the center’s impact in improving a survivor’s quality of life after a brain injury.

Schurig Center Advisory Board member, author, and founder of Red Slice, LLC, Maria Ross, will share her own personal road to recovery from her aneurysm and the important role that community-based non-profits like Schurig Center play in helping survivors adjust to life after a brain injury.

Tickets can be purchased online here.
