Jacki D’Aries is an Occupational Therapist (OT) with a passion for supporting people to heal, adapt, and have the opportunity to reach their highest potential after an injury. She has started her own practice Holistic Life to provide individualized OT services in people’s homes. Dr. Gary Abrams is an expert in neurology and Director of the Neurorehabilitation Program at UCSF Medical Center. He specializes in treating conditions associated with chronic disorders or injuries of the nervous system. He is especially interested in the late effects of stroke and traumatic brain injury, and conducts research on novel methods of cognitive rehabilitation. He is currently a member of the Schurig Center Board of Directors.

The Brain Injury Caregiver Speaker Series is a monthly gathering dedicated to caregivers of people living with an acquired brain injury. Each session will feature guest speakers who are experts in a specific aspect of brain injury care, offering valuable insights and practical advice. Topics will vary each month and will cover areas such as medical care, emotional support, rehabilitation techniques, adaptive living strategies, nutrition, wellness, and more.
This series is presented by two organizations dedicated to helping people heal after brain injury.
