Occupational Therapy offers a broad range of services to anyone who is experiencing a physical, cognitive, or psychosocial challenge. Treatment is hands-on, client centered and focused on active engagement in occupations through a holistic approach. In this context, occupations are not synonymous with career or profession, but rather refer to our life skills. They consist of any and all activities that occupy our time, including, but not limited to: basics of self-care, job tasks, socializing, leisure activities, and household management. The activities we engage in and prioritize can enhance our quality of life and provide us with a sense of purpose. Furthermore, an impairment of any kind can understandably limit our ability to participate in such life skills and obtain fulfillment from the activities of daily living that are essential to our well-being.
