Schurig Center’s staff and participants kicked off our new Community Integration Program with an outing to Marin Humane in Novato.
The gang began their day by sharing lunch together and visiting with some of the furry friends found at Marin Humane. The group then had the opportunity to view their artwork, which had been on display at Marin Humane throughout August as part of Schurig Center’s “Healing Through Pawsitivity” Art Show. The show featured animal drawings and mixed media artworks created by artists in Schurig Center’s Therapeutic Art Studio as well as drawings by long-time volunteer Paul Miller, who guest lectures and teaches animal drawing groups. To commemorate the art show a book was created, named “Animal Tales,” featuring some of the paintings and stories from the show.
