Join Schurig Center for an elegant evening of community connection that helps Bay Area brain injury, concussion and stroke survivors thrive.

Schurig Center for Brain Injury Recovery cordially invites you to join us at the 8th Annual Brain, Art & Music (BAM) Gala on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at the Osher Marin JCC in San Rafael. The celebration kicks off with social mingling and bidding in the silent and art auctions accompanied by live music from exciting new Indie voice Sarah Herzog. Delight your palette with wine tastings poured by Estate 1856 Wines, Stringer Cellars, and Wilson Artisan Wines and nosh on delicious appetizers and a light buffet dinner by Comforts.

Plus, you’ll be treated to an inspiring live program led by emcee Joan Ryan, New York Times Best-selling author, award-winning sports journalist, and media consultant for the San Francisco Giants, followed by an energetic live auction and scholarship fund-a-need. Dr. Diane Barnes, stroke survivor, advocate, and writer and solo performer of “My Stroke of Luck,” will also be honored.

Providing low-income clients at Schurig Center with access to life-changing services as they continue their journey to recovery after brain injury, concussion, or stroke, regardless of their financial ability.

A stroke happens every 40 seconds in the U.S. and is the fifth leading cause of death, killing about 140,000 Americans each year.

Recovery from a stroke is a life long process, and there are many people, like Nurse Rona Renner’s guests, Dr. Diane Barnes and Patricia Gill, Schurig Center’s Executive Director, who have stories to offer of hope and recovery.
