The group then had the opportunity to view their artwork, which had been on display at Marin Humane throughout August as part of Schurig Center’s “Healing Through Pawsitivity” Art Show. The show featured animal drawings and mixed media artworks created by artists in Schurig Center’s Therapeutic Art Studio as well as drawings by long-time volunteer Paul Miller, who guest lectures and teaches animal drawing groups. Schurig Center is pleased to share “Animal Tales” a collection of animal mixed media artworks and writing created by artists in our Art Studio. Artists spent art sessions creating the images and writings for this book. The artists reflected on the importance of animals in their lives, and how they provide friendship, inspiration, healing, and unconditional love. During the process of creating the images, stories, and reflections, the artists shared thought provoking experiences of the healing impact that animals have in their lives. Enjoy!
